Visiting Assistant Professor

The Visiting Assistant Professor will engage in teaching and research within the insurance and risk management discipline, which is academically situated within the Department of Finance. The Visiting Assistant Professor may also engage with LCIRM activities directed toward students and industry. The teaching load is 2 courses per semester.  This is a 2-year appointment: August 15, 2025 – August 14, 2027. Please note, this position does not support visa sponsorship. 

Essential Functions

• Teaching: Teach entry-level and upper-division insurance/risk management courses as determined by the department chair and dependent on departmental needs.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with related academic programs and faculty and staff.
• Research: Engage in insurance and risk management-focused research, potentially in collaboration with other Lindner IRM faculty.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Doctorate in Insurance and Risk Management or related field with a focus in insurance and risk management (e.g., Finance, Economics)

Additional Qualifications Considered

• Demonstrated teaching excellence, in particular teaching entry level RMI courses.
• Demonstrated research activity focused on insurance and risk management data and empirical analysis.
